Topic created on: February 24, 2013 03:38 CST by dot .

Is it senseless to learn programming Win32 Asm for reversing? I heared that Win8 won't support the WinAPI so I asked me right now if it might be wasted time to learn it. I am a newbie but I am unsure now if its a good idea to learn the structure of the pe header / WinAPI. What do you think about it? Could it be better to learn Linux reverse engineering because the POSIX standard lasts longer?
I am really interested in the subject but I want to learn knowledge which will also be useful in 5 years.

No, Windows 8 should support Win APIs, unless Microsoft rewrote their Operating System.

They want to make sure that previously written code still works.

Take care.
